Vista:

Just as a mother would be good to her beloved only child; so, to creatures all and everywhere, let one be good.

“Yathāpi ekaputtasmiṁ, piyasmiṁ kusalī siyā; Evaṁ sabbesu pāṇesu, sabbattha kusalo siyā”ti.

Just as a mother would be good

“Yathāpi ekaputtasmiṁ,

to her beloved only child;

piyasmiṁ kusalī siyā;

so, to creatures all and everywhere,

Evaṁ sabbesu pāṇesu,

let one be good.
