“Mendicants, of all the trees belonging to the titans, the Vivid Patala is said to be the best.*“Vivid Patala” renders cittapāṭali, a variety of Stereospermum chelonoides. This was the awakening tree of Vipassī (DN 14:1.8.1), and the tree after which Pāṭaliputta was named (DN 16:1.19.2).In the same way, the faculty of wisdom is said to be the best of the qualities on the side of awakening; that is, for becoming awakened.And what are the qualities on the side of awakening?The faculties of faith, energy, mindfulnesssatiAtención plena, memoria, poderes de referencia y retención. Katame ca, bhikkhave, bodhipakkhiyā dhammā? Saddhindriyaṁ, bhikkhave, bodhipakkhiyo dhammo, taṁ bodhāya saṁvattati …pe… paññindriyaṁ bodhipakkhiyo dhammo, taṁ bodhāya saṁvattati. The faculties of faith, energy, mindfulness, immersion, and wisdom are qualities on the side of awakening, in that they lead to awakening.
Saddhindriyaṁ, bhikkhave, bodhipakkhiyo dhammo, taṁ bodhāya saṁvattati …pe… paññindriyaṁ bodhipakkhiyo dhammo, taṁ bodhāya saṁvattati.
