“Mendicants, of all the trees belonging to the phoenixes, the Red Silk-Cotton Tree is said to be the best. *The Red Silk-Cotton Tree (kūṭasimbalī, Bombax ceiba) has red flowers and spikes on the trunk. It lends its name to one of the hells (MN 130:22.1), and features in a delightful story about Sakka’s ecological awareness (SN 11.6:2.2).In the same way, the faculty of wisdom is said to be the best of the qualities on the side of awakening; that is, for becoming awakened. And what are the qualities on the side of awakening? The faculties of faith, energy, mindfulnesssatiAtención plena, memoria, poderes de referencia y retención.
