So I have heard.At one time the BuddhaBuddhaEl nombre dado a quien redescubre por sí mismo el sendero liberador del Dhamma, tras un largo período de haber sido olvidado por el mundo. Atha kho aññatarā devatā abhikkantāya rattiyā abhikkantavaṇṇā kevalakappaṁ jetavanaṁ obhāsetvā yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā bhagavantaṁ abhivādetvā ekamantaṁ aṭṭhāsi. Ekamantaṁ ṭhitā kho sā devatā bhagavantaṁ gāthāya ajjhabhāsi:

So I have heard.

At one time the Buddha was staying near Sāvatthī in Jeta’s Grove, Anāthapiṇḍika’s monastery.
ekaṁ samayaṁ bhagavā sāvatthiyaṁ viharati jetavane anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme.
Then, late at night, a glorious deity, lighting up the entire Jeta’s Grove, went up to the Buddha, bowed, and stood to one side.
Atha kho aññatarā devatā abhikkantāya rattiyā abhikkantavaṇṇā kevalakappaṁ jetavanaṁ obhāsetvā yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā bhagavantaṁ abhivādetvā ekamantaṁ aṭṭhāsi.

Education and a craft,discipline and training,and well-spoken speech:this is the highest blessing.

Bāhusaccañca sippañca, vinayo ca susikkhito; Subhāsitā ca yā vācā, etaṁ maṅgalamuttamaṁ.

Cittaṁ yassa na kampati;
sorrowless, stainless, secure,
Asokaṁ virajaṁ khemaṁ,
this is the highest blessing.

Though touched by worldly things,Phuṭṭhassa lokadhammehi, their mind does not tremble;Cittaṁ yassa na kampati; sorrowless, stainless, secure,Asokaṁ virajaṁ khemaṁ, this is the highest blessing.Etaṁ maṅgalamuttamaṁ.

Having completed these things,undefeated everywhere;everywhere they go in safety:this is their highest blessing.”

Etādisāni katvāna, Sabbattha maparājitā; Sabbattha sotthiṁ gacchanti, Taṁ tesaṁ maṅgalamuttaman”ti.
