The heavens rain like a sweet song;my hut is roofed and pleasant, sheltered from the wind;I meditate there, peaceful:so rain forth, heavens, if you wish.

“Vassati devo yathā sugītaṁ, Channā me kuṭikā sukhā nivātā; Tassaṁ viharāmi vūpasanto, Atha ce patthayasī pavassa deva.

The heavens rain like a sweet song;

“Vassati devo yathā sugītaṁ,

my hut is roofed and pleasant, sheltered from the wind;

Channā me kuṭikā sukhā nivātā;

I meditate there, peaceful:

Tassaṁ viharāmi vūpasanto,

so rain forth, heavens, if you wish.

Atha ce patthayasī pavassa deva.
