It was well-taught by the Clear-eyed One,the BuddhaBuddhaEl nombre dado a quien redescubre por sí mismo el sendero liberador del Dhamma, tras un largo período de haber sido olvidado por el mundo. “Sudesito cakkhumatā, buddhenādiccabandhunā; Sabbasaṁyojanātīto, sabbavaṭṭavināsano.

It was well-taught by the Clear-eyed One,
“Sudesito cakkhumatā,
the Buddha, Kinsman of the Sun,
buddhenādiccabandhunā;
who has transcended all fetters,
Sabbasaṁyojanātīto,
and destroyed all rolling-on.
sabbavaṭṭavināsano.

Emancipating, it leads across,drying up the root of craving,and, having cut off the poisonous root, <j>the slaughterhouse,it leads to quenching.

Niyyāniko uttaraṇo, taṇhāmūlavisosano; Visamūlaṁ āghātanaṁ, chetvā pāpeti nibbutiṁ.

Emancipating, it leads across,

drying up the root of craving,
taṇhāmūlavisosano;
and, having cut off the poisonous root, <j>the slaughterhouse,
Visamūlaṁ āghātanaṁ,
it leads to quenching.

By breaking the root of unknowing,it smashes the mechanism of deeds,and drops the thunderbolt of knowledgeon the taking up of consciousnesses.

Aññāṇamūlabhedāya, kammayantavighāṭano; Viññāṇānaṁ pariggahe, ñāṇavajiranipātano.

By breaking the root of unknowing,
Aññāṇamūlabhedāya,
