Vista:

I rejoiced in the host of gods,having observed the sabbathcomplete in all eight factors,on the fourteenth and the fifteenth days,

“Cātuddasiṁ pañcadasiṁ, yā ca pakkhassa aṭṭhamī; Pāṭihāriyapakkhañca, aṭṭhaṅgasusamāgataṁ.

I rejoiced in the host of gods,

“Cātuddasiṁ pañcadasiṁ,

having observed the sabbath

yā ca pakkhassa aṭṭhamī;

complete in all eight factors,

Pāṭihāriyapakkhañca,

on the fourteenth and the fifteenth days,

aṭṭhaṅgasusamāgataṁ.

I rejoiced in the host of gods,“Cātuddasiṁ pañcadasiṁ, having observed the sabbathyā ca pakkhassa aṭṭhamī; complete in all eight factors,Pāṭihāriyapakkhañca, on the fourteenth and the fifteenth days,aṭṭhaṅgasusamāgataṁ.

and the eighth day of the fortnight,as well as on the fortnightly special displays.Today I eat just once a day,my head is shaven, I wear the outer robe.I don’t long for the host of gods,for stress has been removed from my heart.

Uposathaṁ upāgacchiṁ, devakāyābhinandinī; Sājja ekena bhattena, muṇḍā saṅghāṭipārutā; Devakāyaṁ na patthehaṁ, vineyya hadaye daran”ti.

and the eighth day of the fortnight,

Uposathaṁ upāgacchiṁ,

as well as on the fortnightly special displays.

devakāyābhinandinī;

Today I eat just once a day,

Sājja ekena bhattena,

my head is shaven, I wear the outer robe.

muṇḍā saṅghāṭipārutā;

I don’t long for the host of gods,

Devakāyaṁ na patthehaṁ,

for stress has been removed from my heart.
