Anopamā

I was born into an eminent family,affluent and wealthy,endowed with a beautiful complexion and figure;Majjha’s true-born daughter.

“Ucce kule ahaṁ jātā, bahuvitte mahaddhane; Vaṇṇarūpena sampannā, dhītā majjhassa atrajā. *majjhassa → meghassa (bj); meghissa (sya1ed, sya2ed)

I was sought by princes,coveted by sons of the wealthy.One sent a messenger to my father:“Give me Anopamā!

Patthitā rājaputtehi, seṭṭhiputtehi gijjhitā; *seṭṭhiputtehi gijjhitā → seṭṭhiputtehi bhijjhitā (bj)Pitu me pesayī dūtaṁ, detha mayhaṁ anopamaṁ.

However much your daughterAnopamā weighs,I’ll give you eight times thatin gold coin and gems.”

Yattakaṁ tulitā esā, tuyhaṁ dhītā anopamā; Tato aṭṭhaguṇaṁ dassaṁ, hiraññaṁ ratanāni ca.

However much your daughterYattakaṁ tulitā esā, Anopamā weighs,tuyhaṁ dhītā anopamā; I’ll give you eight times thatTato aṭṭhaguṇaṁ dassaṁ, in gold coin and gems.”hiraññaṁ ratanāni ca.

When I saw the Awakened One,the world’s Elder, unsurpassed,I paid homage at his feet,and withdrew to one side.

Sāhaṁ disvāna sambuddhaṁ, lokajeṭṭhaṁ anuttaraṁ; Tassa pādāni vanditvā, ekamantaṁ upāvisiṁ.

When I saw the Awakened One,Sāhaṁ disvāna sambuddhaṁ, the world’s Elder, unsurpassed,lokajeṭṭhaṁ anuttaraṁ; I paid homage at his feet,Tassa pādāni vanditvā, and withdrew to one side.ekamantaṁ upāvisiṁ.

Out of compassion,Gotama taught me the DhammaDhamma1. Fenómeno; cualquier cosa que ocurre y es cognoscible. 2. Fenómeno mental, «pensamiento». 3. Tato kesāni chetvāna, pabbajiṁ anagāriyaṁ; Ajja me sattamī ratti, yato taṇhā visositā”ti.
